39 weeks

We have now reached 39 weeks. Phew!

Went to the OB yesterday. I just feel like a ticking time bomb ready to go off. They did strip my membranes yesterday, but so far that has accomplished nothing.

I have had this gut feeling that I am going to go over my due date. My midwife assured me that I will not make it to 41 weeks. Just a waiting game!!

38 weeks

I went to the OB this week and saw the other midwife in the practice. She said that she is more stingy in her saying how far dilated I am. She said that she would only give me 2-3cm. I feel like I am regressing in my pregnancy!

I have been trying to take everyday as it comes. Baby may not come today, but I still need to be prepared for when they come. Easier said than done. Still feeling well, thankfully.

This little girl and I have loved spending time together. Man am I going to miss her when I am in the hospital. Is that one reason to have baby at home?

37 Weeks...Officially Full Term

It seems like just yesterday that I found out we were expecting this bundle of joy.

Went to the OB on Monday of this week and found out that I had gone from 1-2 cm dilated to 3-4 cm dilated in the last week. I also am 70% effaced. My midwife said that that was a lot of progress for one week. She basically said that I could go into labor anytime. She also said that I could walk around for a few weeks like that. I knew that I was hours into labor with Esther before I reached that point in labor. Goodness!

Needless to say, on Tuesday, I was way apprehensive about going into labor. I felt a little sick all day just knowing that labor could be anytime. Our pastor that night at church shared the verse Philippians 4:7 which says, "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." That verse really challenged me that I am not in control, but He is.

The next day, I texted a friend to congratulate her on her pregnancy. She was telling me that she was 3 cm for the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy. I needed to hear that personal experience story. So, sometime before Christmas, there will be another addition to our family. Until then, I will do my best to rely on the peace that God has given me.

32 to 34 Week Bump Posts

Someone said to me yesterday, just two more weeks and you will be ready to go anytime. Yikes! I am not ready for this next little one! Were any of you ever ready for your little one when you were pregnant?

I am a few weeks behind on posting belly shots, so you get a little progression.

I am measuring small, although I did the whole time with Esther, so we are going to get an ultrasound next week to make sure the little one's growth is on target. Always fun to get to see the baby again. technology is pretty amazing isn't it?

31 Week Bump Post

My momma texted me this morning to say that it is just 2 months til my due date. Ah! Puts a little bit of panic into my mind. Two things that this makes me want to do. First, sleep so that I am ready for sleep deprivation. Second, get rid of excess from our house. I think that is my way of nesting. Wish it was cleaning!!

Fall is upon us! Two more pictures just because!

30 Weeks With Both Pregnancies

Last post, one of my friends said that she wanted to see a comparison shot of both pregnancies. So, I have uploaded me at 30 weeks with both pregnancies. Unfortunately, with Esther, I was wearing a bulky sweatshirt!

I went to the ob at 29 weeks and hear rate was 133. I have never had one that slow. Thinking that I should have gotten out of bed earlier and drank some more coffee before my appointment!

First picture is this pregnancy. Second is from my pregnancy with Esther.

And just because she is cute! Sometimes I look at her and think did this cute thing really develop inside of me? Can we deny that there is a God?

24 weeks

Man, I just looked back at 23 weeks and my clothes drastically changed. Does that make you curious at all? I am amazed when you live in Ohio how much different the weather can be in a week or a days time. God keeps us guessing and our wardrobe changing!

I have honestly been feeling great. I think that I could go for a nap every day, though.

Recently, I have been thinking about how I feel like I was just finding out that I was pregnant. Now, I am past way there. A little one will be here before we know it. I have a lot I would like to do before then! God will give grace, and I can't take a nap every stinkin' day!

23 Weeks and Counting

It has been 3 weeks since I posted an update. I am already at 23 weeks. Can someone make time slow down?

A little girl distracted me for this picture. She has no idea that her world is going to be rocked!

Half Way There

Can you tell that life has changed from this pregnancy to last? I have taken pictures all along and have posted not a single one!

Things have been going well with this pregnancy, my only complaint is that I have been really tired. Part of that is just life though? I have a teething girl right now that has been keeping me up at night and that hasn't been helping my energy level.

I hope this pregnancy slows done. I can't believe that we are halfway to meeting the next little one.

39 Weeks!

Anyone else a little disturbed by that vein in my arm?

How far along? 39 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 25 pounds

Sleep: The first few nights of this week were kinda rough. I kept thinking that I would wake up in the middle of the night and the baby would be deciding to start making their appearance. Obviously, that did not happen! Last night, I did get a great night's sleep. Didn't even get up to go to the bathroom. Such a blessing.

Best moment this week: My husband needed to take the national registry in order to finish his EMT certification. We were able to go out to eat afterwards. So nice just to be able to get away for a few hours with him! He learned how to deliver a baby in the EMT class, and now is worried that he will have to deliver our baby. :)

Miss Anything? I have already been thinking about not feeling the baby kicks. Been trying to feel them more this week because it won't be long and I won't get to feel them any more.

Movement: I know babies are suppose to feel tight on space, but this little one has still been kicking away. Now to use those legs to help push out here soon!

Symptoms: For a week and a half, I have been having what my midwife calls practice contractions. Apparently baby and I need a lot of practice!

Heartburn has pretty much gone away since baby has dropped!

Food cravings: None

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: Holding this little one and finding out the gender!

Appointments: We went to see the midwife on Monday. She really thought that she was going to see us over the weekend. Baby was no ready to come though! I was 2 cm dilated. Baby has dropped.

I woke up Sunday morning feeling kinda junky. As she was telling me different signs of labor, I was experiencing most of them. Lack of appetite, just feeling gross, kinda crampy. But those have eased off and baby still hasn't decided to come! Now I am working on being patient!

2 More Weeks to Go Bump Update!

How far along? 38 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 26 pounds- this hasn't really fluctuated the last few weeks...

Sleep: Not too bad. I did have a few nights that weren't the most restful. I have been enjoying my naps this week!

Best moment this week: Enjoying the time that I have left with just me and my husband!

Miss Anything? Last night, I really wanted to roll onto my belly in the middle of the night. I had to think, soon!

Movement: Baby spent a day doing nothing but move!

Symptoms: Oh the heartburn. I don't know how some of you deal with heartburn all the time.

Food cravings: None

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: Having a few pictures taken with my husband tomorrow!

Appointments: We went on Tuesday. They always ask if I have been having contractions. I always respond something like not that I know, but I don't really know. Well, my midwife went to measure my belly and she was like you are having a contraction right now. I just gave her this funny look like are you kidding me! That one stopped and another smaller one came on shortly after. She said they were practice contractions. For the next day, my belly was having some major spasms. I guess I need lots of practice! I was beginning to wonder if something was going to happen. After about a day and a half, my belly calmed down. How crazy!

I am now 1 cm dilated and was informed that my doctor and midwife are on call this weekend, so if I want to have my baby on a weekend this is the weekend to have the little one. This comment was the first time it hit me that truly this baby could come at any time! Pretty sure I am not ready!!

37 Week Pregnancy Update and a Little Peek At Our Little One

If you remember last week, I was freaking out about thinking that baby was breech and not moving. I really did not want to have to face a c-section. Thank you all for all of the encouragement that you sent over the last week. I had some friends who knew I had an ultrasound today, and they were texting me to see how things went. So encouraging.

I learned this week that worrying is not worth while. I have been freaking out that baby is breech, and I know don't think that baby has been at all. Nothing moved, and when we went in for the ultrasound today, the first thing the tech said is, "Head is down." Ok, I am done! I don't need to know anything else.

Everything looked great. They thought that baby is around 6 pounds.

All I have to say is that God had some lessons to teach me and He has His ways of teaching me to trust in him and not myself.

How far along? 37 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 26 pounds

Sleep: Been pretty good. I definitely haven't been sleepy very heavy. Guess my body is getting ready for a crying little one.

Best moment this week: Hearing, "Head is down."

Miss Anything? Being able to find a comfortable position for more than a few minutes.

Movement: Those legs really get me sometimes!

Symptoms: Always needing to go to the bathroom.

Food cravings: No, but have to eat some things sometimes just because I am pregnant.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: Knowing that as long as everything goes well, this baby will be able to be born vaginally. Just takes a load off of my shoulders. I need to mentally prepare now.

Appointments: Everything looks great. Dilated just about a cm. Got a little ways to go! I got to meet the other midwife today.

36 Weeks and My Husband's Birthday

I have struggled this past week and a half with the unknown outcome of this pregnancy, vaginal delivery or c-section. When my midwife first said to me that we might have to look at scheduling a c-section, I would have done just about anything to avoid a section. I still am doing my best to avoid a section, but I know God is giving me this trial to teach me about Himself.

I have had this easy pregnancy, and because of that, I think that I have everything under control. Guess what?! I don't; only God does. I have to keep reminding myself that God's plan is the best and if that means c-section, then all will be ok.

My cousin and I were talking on the phone the other night, and she was telling me about struggling with a situation and that ultimately it was her pride that was getting in her way. I had to stop and think, I am being proud that I want to experience labor. I want to do thins my way. Crazy, right? As long as baby and I are both healthy, should I be concerned about how baby gets here? Believe me, I am still doing what I can to fight off the c-section, but I am also doing what I can to fight off my trying to be in control instead of God. Worrying about what is beyond my control is not healthy either.

Would you do me a huge favor? Would you pray that this baby will flip so that I can deliver this baby without having to go through a c-section?

How far along? 36 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 25 pounds

Sleep: Other than always wishing for more, sleep has been going pretty well.

Best moment this week: Having the whole day Monday to spend with my husband and not having anywhere to go!

Today is also my husband's birthday which is extra special!!
Miss Anything? The feeling of having any clue what is going to happen with this pregnancy.

Movement: Still kicking!

Symptoms: I have felt a little crampy a few days. So weird how our body adjusts to get ourselves ready for things.

Food cravings: Nope

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: getting to see our little one next week! We are having an ultrasound on Thursday to see the positioning of our baby.

Appointments: Got my exciting strep test done. Pretty normal appointment other than that.

35 Week Bump Post

Our little one got their first lecture yesterday. What kind of mean momma am I? The conversation went something like, "Baby, you are suppose to move your head to down here. You need to learn to obey. And you need to obey right when you are asked." Well baby has not obeyed yet. I think we have a stubborn one on our hands. Yikes!

So, here I sit with an ice pack on the top of my belly trying to convince this little one to obey.

How far along? 35 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 25 pounds

Sleep: Still good. I have been getting up most nights this last week to go to the bathroom.

Best moment this week: I was very blessed by the shower that the ladies at my church gave me. Got some things that we will need for the baby and some things that will just be super nice!

Miss Anything? I miss being able to sub. I am going to miss the students and the teachers that I got to work with this year.

Movement: Those little knees have been getting me.

Symptoms: Just a little acid reflux

Food cravings: Nope

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: This little one flipping to the right direction.

Appointments: Good appointment this week. Although, we did find out that baby is still breech. I have been trying a few different things to get baby to turn, but I would love to hear if you have anything that worked for you.

34 Week Bump Update

I have to admit that I am loving all the green that is around me. Even looking at last week's picture, things aren't this green.

How far along? 34 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 25 pounds

Sleep: Can't complain.

I had a dream this week that I had the baby. I did dream about what the baby is going to be. Any guesses? And they were born with light eyes. They handed me the baby right after the little one was born and there was no cheese on the baby. Yep, pretty sure that is not accurate!

Best moment this week: Putting the clothes away that I have and getting diapers ready. Won't be long and I will actually be using those things. Overwhelming.

Miss Anything? Just being able to relish in pregnancy. It has really hit me this week that baby is truly coming soon. 6 weeks really doesn't sound like long. I am excited about this baby coming, but at the same time, I am very overwhelmed by all that this will bring. And I am sure I haven't even realized all that this baby will bring!

Movement: I get distracted sometimes watching tv cause I have to watch my belly move. I am amazed sometimes at the shapes my belly takes. Completely lopsided. Flat in the middle. Legs are definitely on the left side and the baby is working on those soccer skills.

Symptoms: Had some slight acid reflux. Other than that, have felt great!

Food cravings: Nope

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: I have my other shower coming up next week.

Appointments: This week was my off week. Won't be much longer and I won't get off weeks any more.

33 Weeks Bump Update

How far along? 33 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 24 pounds. I read this week that weight increase decreases at this point of pregnancy. I just can't imagine this fact to be true. What has been your experience later in pregnancy? Did weight gain slow?

Since 2 weeks ago, my belly has grown 2 inches. I knew my belly had popped, but the measurement just proved the growth. I think this expansion will continue happening til the end.

Sleep: Bring on the vivid dreams! Last night I kept dreaming that I was in labor. I went to the "hospital" which was an outside tent. I sat there forever and did not progress at all. Eventually, I did start dreaming about something else and baby never came.

Best moment this week: Having one whole day to spend with my awesome husband. We got to sleep in and just enjoy time together.

Miss Anything? Sometimes that bending over gets to me. Just can't do it well.

Movement: Yes! My midwife felt my belly and said, you definitely have an active one. She said that an active one is a healthy one!

Symptoms: I had one night that I ate too much grease. I couldn't lay down without feeling like I was going to vomit. Made me think of all the nights I use to wake up my mom and say, "Mom, I just threw up." Oh, the things that I have to look forward to happening.

Food cravings: Right now, I could go for a BLT.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Looking forward to: My last day of working for American Greetings is tomorrow. I am looking forward to not having to work on weekends.

Appointments:  Had a great appointment. Was told that I was going to have a decent size baby. She assured me not huge. Heartbeat was once again 130. Baby is sitting breech right now. The little one moved since 2 weeks ago but went the wrong way. My midwife said she isn't worried about positioning until we hit 36 weeks.
