Cozy Up for a Few Good Books

Honestly, Visible Threat is, in my opinion, the best fiction book that I have read for a while. I love when a book has adventure and suspense. My husband would laugh at me when I would fill him in on this book. I had to keep him up to date!

This book was written by a previous law enforcement officer. The story involves trying to catch people who are involved in human trafficking. I know this problem is very real, but I have not been very informed about how everything works. The insight of what these women who are trafficked are told and what they have to endure. Eye opening for sure.

I also thought that the spiritual aspect of book was very well written. I appreciate when a fiction book has the ability to challenge spiritually.

Thanks to Tyndale for a chance to review Visible Threat.

The Patmos Deception had two story lines in the book that eventually merged. The one story line drew me in, while the other made me want to skip over those chapters. Once the stories merged, I was more interested in the book as a whole.

Once again this book contained a situation that needed to be solved. The one researcher knew a lot of Biblical information about the times of Paul that was included in the book. Kinda neat to think about places that you can still visit and how they played in the Bible.

Thanks to Bethany House for allowing me to review The Patmos Deception.

What a challenge Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy was to me. I started reading this book shortly after Esther was born, so it took me a little while to get through the book. One of these days I want to read this book again when I have more time to read through and meditate on the book.

Just think about all the times that you don't choose to show gratitude. I am so guilty of this lack. I know even now as I reflect on this book, I know I need to work in this area.

Thanks to Moody for allowing me to be challenged by Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy.

I really like the book The 5 Love Languages. When I heard that there was a book A Perfect Pet for Peyton that would be a good lesson for little kids about the love languages, I had to check out the book.

My almost 6 month old and I read this book. She thumped her little feet the whole way through, but we had to read the book over 3 three settings because it was long. I would be curious what a child in about the 3rd grade would think of this book.

I think it is great for kids to think about different ways that they can show love to others and then to analyze how they can show love to those who are close to them. This book is one that I will be tucking away for future years!

Thanks to Moody for a chance to review A Perfect Pet for Peyton.

The Berenstain Bears and the Biggest Brag was another great book to read with my daughter. I am sure that some day there will be pride that comes into her little life. This book will be a great one to pull out and read with her.

I like that the new Berentain Bear books aren't as long as the older ones. I didn't really like to read these books when I was little because they were so long, but now I thoroughly enjoy the shorter length.

The Berenstain Bears and the Biggest Brag came in exchange for an honest review from Book Look Bloggers.

  1. I think I'd like to read Choosing Gratitude by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. I love Nancy and her perspective. :)

I'm currently reading a book called The Most Important Place on Earth on how to build a Christian home, and I love it. I'm also kind of obsessed (a RARE emotion for me to feel) with The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings stories right now. I can't wait to read all of J.R.R. Tolkien's books someday.

    1. Nancy does have a great perspective in this book. She said at one point that as a single woman, she struggles with gratitude the most. Honest!

I had to look that book up on amazon. Looks like a good one. I have a few on mothering on my pile right now that I am looking forward to digging into.

Sandra, all power to you on The Lord of the Rings. I could never get into the movies, so not sure I would get into the books. I know it seems like they are one of those things that you either can't get enough of or you get too much of!

    1. I actually just got the book about the 5 love languages of children. I am excited to have the chance to read from this perspective. My little one is only 6 months, so not sure I will be able to pick out her love language yet, just know that it isn't touch! Thanks for stopping by, Rebekah!
