Getting Ready for Christmas Reading

The Christmas Story for Children

I saw this book and got excited for Christmas. The book may be a little long for Esther, but she did contently listen almost to the end. I really enjoyed how clearly the Christmas story was presented in this book.

The story didn't just stop with Jesus being born, but went on to Jesus starting His ministry. I think this book will be a great book to read yearly before Christmas. I am excited to get to introduce Miss Esther to her first Christmas!

I am not the biggest fan of the illustrations in this book. Most pages are ok, but there are a few pages that would be kinda scary to a little one.

Thanks to BookLook Bloggers for a copy of The Christmas Story for Children.

This book is divided into different sections including being transformed, living under grace, and overcoming anger, anxiety, depression, and losses.

I like that every chapter starts with a passage that you can look up in your Bible. Then you are giving what Anderson has to say about the passage. You re then given questions to think about and write down your answers. Great book to be able to use in your daily devotions.

Thanks to Bethany House for allowing me to review Renewing Your Mind: Become More Like Christ.

The Natural Pregnancy Book

Nope, not implying anything on this book!

I think this book would be a great resource for a first time pregnant lady. The book does talk about different things that will happen during pregnancy and when you will experience them.

My favorite part of the book is where it lists different things you may experience during pregnancy, for example, constipation, itching, and morning sickness. Then they list out some natural things that you can do in order to try to get relief.

Thanks to Blooging for Books for the copy of The Natural Pregnancy Book.

  1. Thanks for these reviews, Lydia. :) We have a tradition at Christmas and read the same book every year. It's a children's book, but it tells the story accurately. And the pictures are appropriate.

    1. My family always read the Christmas story from the Bible every year. I do like using a story book for a while until kids are older.
