Goals: Week of August 19th

The importance of goals.
source

This past week was one of those weeks that I stayed pretty busy, but not necessarily with what I was planning on doing.

My mom got me some produce on Monday. Super excited about what all she got me, but it took time to can and freeze the produce for this winter. We will eat better this winter because of my work this week. Exciting!

On the flip side, I didn't get as much done that I had on my goals list.

Last week's goals:

1. Go on a walk
2. Wash windows
3. Make bathroom curtain
4. Finish Patterns- super close. Just need to make a pdf
5. Can Roasted Red Pepper Spread

6. Clean out and organize guest bedroom- worked on this. My husband got home and didn't notice a difference. Bummer!

Before
After

7. Finish book- I have 4 chapters left.
8. Blog two times- I blogged once, you can see that here.

This week's goals:

Home Goals:
  1. Start using a cleaning schedule
  2. Organize guest room
  3. Make bathroom curtain
  4. Can pizza sauce
Personal Goals:
  1. Go on a walk
  2. Write 2 letters to friends
  3. List things to sell
Blog Goals:
  1. Finish patterns

Do you can or freeze anything that you will be able to enjoy this winter?

  1. You and I had about the same kind of week! Lots of goals... but I didn't get to many of them either. On Saturday, I just crashed and spent most of the day lying around napping or watching movies with my husband! But we need those days once in awhile, right? But your canning looks great! I admire you for doing stuff like that. I don't know if I will ever have the dedication to do it. :) Have a great week!

    1. Jamie, your Saturday sounds like it was a fabulous day! Can't have one of those everyday, but we do need them occasionally. Glad you were able to enjoy it with your husband.

  3. Lydia, Danica's Daily blog has a canning contest this week for new stuff. I didn't enter because I don't know if I would do that (I've never tried) but you might want to head over and check out her blog to get some free canning stuff! -Jenny

  4. This past week I was able to get two boxes of peaches for $5 a box. Even though I didn't know what kind they were I took a chance and canned 14 quart jars of peaches and they turned out fine. I dried about 15 pounds of the leftover peaches in my dehydrator. I am thinking I would like to purchase one more box of peaches and then we should be set for this year. I still have two types of pickles to make too.

    1. Awesome job, Shelly! I am not peach expert, but I know they taste good! I still have peaches from last year. My canned goods were all at my parents house, so not very conveniently located. I need to work at getting them to my house!

  5. Thank you for sharing with us here at "Tell Me a Story." Home canning is a great way to have something good in the winter. Oh I have never been good at making lists and keeping them. I think you are doing very well considering that you did some canning and did arrange the guest room.
