Cozy Up With Some Good Books

Capture the Moment: The Modern Photographer's Guide to Finding Beauty in Everyday and Family Life makes me wish that I had more photography skills. I am challenged by this book to try to improve on the pictures that I do take.

I love all the pictures that are included in this book. We are told the settings that were used by the photographer. I am challenged to think about the surrounds for the picture, the lighting for the picture, and about telling a story with the picture.

I would encourage anyone who wanted to take better pictures to pick up this book to read.

Thanks to Blogging for books for a copy of Capture the Moment: The Modern Photographer's Guide to Finding. Beauty in Everyday and Family Life.

I enjoyed getting to watch my husband read The Berenstain Bears God Bless Our Country to Esther. He said, I didn't know that Berenstain Bears is Scriptural. If anyone has an explanation of when this changed?

A long book for my little one, but I did enjoy the story. I enjoyed that Papa Bear served in the Army and marched in the parade. Also, the bears decorating their bikes reminded me of stories and pictures that I have seen of my dad when he was little decorating his bike for the parade.

Fun book for the fourth of July. Will be read again before then!

Thanks to BookLook Bloggers for The Berenstain Bears God Bless Our Country.

Parenting with Scripture: A Topical Guide for Teachable Moments is a great resource for parents who want to use Scripture when talking to their children.

The book is divided into may different topics that a child might struggle with from forgiveness to anger. These topics are something that we as parents could even use in our own lives.

Thanks to Moody for a copy of Parenting with Scripture: A Topical Guide for Teachable Moments in exchange for an honest review.

  1. All of those books sound like good ones! I also noticed that Berenstain Bears books started sharing biblical messages, and I love that. Thanks for sharing these reviews, Lydia! :)

    1. I also love when there is a scriptural emphasis. Helps make my job a little easier!

  2. Hi! I think the Berenstains Bears started to become Faith based when Mike Berenstain, the son of the original authors, took over! I've always liked the good morals and now the Christian basis is so much better!
