My friend Cindy told me that she likes this book more than the first book in the series. I have been out of the fiction loop for a while, so I didn't know if I would agree with her. I definitely thought this was a more enjoyable read.
Add a little suspense and mystery to the book and I am more of a fan!
There are two sisters Laura and Carissa are facing the end of the civil war. Carissa quickly falls in love and marries a man despite her sisters non approval.
Laura meets a man and becomes involved in a plot that could eventually convict Carissa's husband guilty of a crime that would result in hanging.
This man that Laura meets, she falls in love with. But is trying to use her to get to her brother-in-law?
Will the family stay together or will this tear them apart? The farther you get into the book, the more intriguing the plot gets.
I am thankful that Bethany House allowed me to read and review this book. If you are interested in reviewing their books then check them out here. You do have to write a review on your blog and a retailer site.
As always, if you are interested in borrowing my copy, let me know!
Love hearing from book lovers - glad you got back in the fiction world - and enjoyed the review. Do you enjoy reading but just don't have the time?

I would say that I have been in the after college slmp. I have always liked to read, but just haven't made it much of a priority since college. Now I need to start reading some nonfiction!
DeleteLet me know what you decide to start with - nonfiction is one of those areas that I can really get into... well sometimes!
