The Berenstain Bears God Made You Special is a great book to read to a child who doesn't understand why one of their friends may be a little different.
The bears are encouraged to show love and try to help their friend fit in with them.
Definitely gonna be using this book as a teaching tool some day. Until then, this is a great read!

My husband said to me the other day that we need to eat more salads, so I decided to get Salad Love: Crunchy, Savory, and Filling Meals You Can Make Every Day to review.
I love the story behind why the man wrote this book. He wanted to make salads that he could make at his desk at work. I do agree that the salads would be pretty simple to make. On the other hand, I would probably have to drive an hour to a specialty grocery to buy ingredients. The book does encourage me to think outside of the box from my boring salad!

A Harvest of Hope was a fun read to revisit the people in the city of Blessing. I love the simplicity of the time period. How fun would it be to get together as a town and to play a baseball game. The comradery of the people in the town is encouraging.

These all sound like great books, Lydia. :) I confess that I'm a boring salad maker, too. LOL I need to think outside the box more...maybe when the kids are all grown up!
ReplyDeleteGlad that I am not the only boring salad maker!! Boring salads I can pull together quickly. I have to think too much to be creative!
