I am not sure it I am suppose to admit to liking this book or not, but I thoroughly enjoyed Andi Under Pressure. Written for a middle schooler, this book features a mystery at a science camp.
The story line was clean and suspenseful. Kept me reading even though it was below my age level. I really think I enjoyed the book because I could finish the book in just 2 days. I have another book that I am working on reading that has probably taken me a month!
I would put this book in the hands of any middle school child!
I received a copy of Andi Under Pressure from BookLook Bloggers.
Not as sure what I think of Longing for More: Daily Reflections on Finding God in the Rhythms of Life. I think this book would be great for just inspirational reading.
I was expecting more of a great devotional. When I think of devotional, I want something that tears apart a passage of Scripture. This book gives a passage of Scripture and more of a story to go along with the passage.
I think the layout and writing is great, just not really what I was expecting.
Bethany House provided me with a copy of Longing for More: Daily Reflections on Finding God in the Rhythms of Life.
My husband and I had fun looking through In Her Kitchen: Stories and Recipes from Grandmas Around the World. Ok, so maybe it was more me that enjoyed this book, but they pictured the grandma and her kitchen on one page and then told her country on the next. I had fun trying to guess the country that each grandma lived.
I love that the recipes in here are tried and true recipes from these grandmas. I would like to see a menu to go along with the meals. I am not the most adventurous when it comes to making meals, so I would need some help with coming up with more than just the item from another country. If you were adventurous, this would be a great cookbook for you!
Thanks to BloggingforBooks for a copy of In Her Kitchen: Stories and Recipes from Grandmas Around the World.
In Her Kitchen sounds like an interesting book. But, like you, I tend to stick with familiar foods in the kitchen, otherwise, I may end up eating it all by myself. I live with picky eaters... :)
ReplyDeleteI ended up flipping through more and there was a recipe for iguana! Not sure that I could find iguana anywhere near here to make. :)
