My Thoughts on Fly a Little Higher

After I received Fly a Little Higher: How God Answered a Mom's Small Prayer in a Big Way, I was a little apprehensive to read the book. A decent size book about a kids struggle with cancer. Could be really good or it could be a big waste of time. I thought the book was excellent. I wanted to keep reading.

I love how Laura, the mom was very open and honest. She shared many of the struggles along they way that they all faced. I can't really imagine being placed in her shoes, but I got a small glimpse of what it may be like. Am I anywhere near that open and honest?

My life really isn't that bad. When I have a rough day, I just need to think about the Sobeich family and realize that I really don't have things that badly. They dealt with their tough struggles with such grace. I need to deal with the small struggles that are placed before me with grace.

The family relied heavily on their faith during this time. I didn't like that it sounded like they believed that works would get them to heaven, but they never directly said what they believed. Because this was not dwelled on, I think that what they believed in this area doesn't have a great impact on the messages that were presented in the book.

Zach wrote a song to say goodbye which has become very famous.
