Generous Love {Book Review}

Generous Love was an excellent read. Although, this book mad me realize how much I put myself first. Sometimes, I need to hear about my issues and to remind myself that I need to be putting other people first.

I love how this book has Scripture interwoven through the book. I didn't feel like I was just hearing what Becky thought, but I was hearing what God thought.

The book also had many practical applications of how I can put others first. Things as easy as, when you invite others to your home, pray for them before the meal. So easy, but so hard.

Thanks to Bethany House for a copy of this book.

Cozy Up With Some Good Books

My husband is in love with Chinese food. So many times, we think that we need to go out to get Chinese food. We have started to make ours at home. Man, it is so much cheaper. And if you don't have a good Chinese restaurant, our food from home is so much better. When I saw that Phoenix Claws and Jade Trees: Essential Techniques of Authentic Chinese Cooking was available to review, I was excited to check it out.

The recipe for sweet and sour sauce is the one recipe that I am the most excited about trying. There are a lot of recipes that are ones that I won't try cause they are more eccentric than I usually cook, but I am excited about those staple Chinese foods that we eat.

These Books Are Getting Me Ready for Christmas!

The First Christmas Ever lays out the Christmas story in a very Biblical way. I love when books don't stray from what is in the Bible.

For a book that is only $1.99, you can't beat it. The book is small, but would make for a cheap and profitable gift for those on your Christmas list.

This book is for 4-8 year olds. It took my daughter (who is 3 months) four nights to finish this Christmas story. I am glad to have this book in my Christmas book collection.

I really enjoyed getting to flip through Your Family in Pictures. Sometimes, I think it would be fun to be a great photographer. Then, I think about all that they put into editing pictures and I change my mind instantly!

Me Ra's purpose in writing this book is to give moms the ability to capture their children's lives in the form of a story. She is big on getting your pictures to tell the story of what is happening. Don't just snap a picture, but frame the picture with what is going on in the picture. She says that sometimes less is more.

Holidays are coming up, the first for Miss Esther. I want to try to make sure that I capture the stories that come across during the holidays.
