Save Money on Christmas Shopping: Amazon Prime

Amazon has recently been offering a free trial to Amazon Prime. In my mind this relates to free shipping for Christmas presents all from the comfort of my couch! What can get better than that? Amazon boasts 3 reasons to sign up.

* Get unlimited FREE two-day shipping with no minimum order size
* Instantly watch over 40,000 movies and TV episodes with titles for everyone
* Borrow books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library

My husband is currently taking college classes. If you are lucky enough to have a edu email address, then you can join amazon student. The student will give you a 6 month trial. You will have to confirm this email address, but it does not have to be the email that is attached to your account. My friend Cindy made me aware of the fact that you only get the free shipping with amazon student. Not as great of a deal, but still not bad for the free shipping deal.

If you are not a student, but are interested in signing up, you can click here to join amazon prime. This link will give you a one month free trial.

We did find out that not all items are included in the free shipping, so just be careful as you shop!

Amazon has made it easy to turn off your renewal, which is a major plus in my book. How you can turn the renewal off is to click on Your Account on Amazon's home page. Scroll down to Settings and click on Manage Prime Membership. Scroll down a little and on the left it will say Do not continue membership. This will allow you to continue your membership for the whole trial without worrying about getting charged.

This post does include an affiliate link. If you sign up before the end of October, I will receive some kickback from your sign up. So, go back and sign up and turn off your renewal :)
