Cozy Up With Some Good Books

What a great story of redemption and forgiveness. Also, a great reminder that our choices do have consequences. There are several people who live in the town in this book that you get to experience. I got caught up in being part of the town. One of the women was abused by her husband. I had never thought about all the emotions that went along with that tragedy, so it was good to get a little bit of a feel of what they may be going through.

Thanks to Bethany House for the opportunity to review The Midwife's Choice.

Ron Blue presents the money truths in this book differently than Dave Ramsey does. Refreshing to see something different. Still the same principles just a different presentation. He also presented a lot of Biblical truths in the book.

Since this book was written 30 years ago, Ron and his son give a summary of how that chapter has affected their life after 30 years. Kinda fun to see how these truths have impacted their lives.

I have read a few minimalist books over the last few months, and this one was by far my favorite.

Joshua talks about getting rid of stuff so that we have more time and energy to invest in what we want to invest in. I love that. Less things to dust, less things to mop around, less things to organize, and the list could go on.

I also liked how Joshua included several Biblical principles into his book.

Passing this book on to my mom to make her read it.

If you are in to politics and all their involvement, then you would enjoy this book more than I did.I am not really into politics, so I had a hard time getting into this book.

Jesus Today is written as if Jesus is talking directly to a child. What a fun way to write a book. There are several verses that are included with each day.

This book is a little too old for Esther. I would say designed for maybe an 8 year old. We will definitely be tucking it away to pull out later as it will be a great encouragement to her later.

  2. The Mastering your Money sound interesting to me. We are debt free thanks to using the Dave Ramsey system. It would be interesting to see the chapter update on how the chapter impacted them 30 years later. Thanks for sharing about this book Lydia!
